Joplin update
Apr. 26th, 2008 09:42 pmSitting in the hotel room in Joplin. We are at Days Inn tonight. After the cluster fuck with Motel 6 last night, we voted to not give Tom any more money from this trip... I'm not going to say Motel 6 is a bad chain because every other time we've stayed with them our stay has been uneventful to say the least, but last night after calling ahead to confirm a late arrival, they still canceled our room. At 2 fucking o'clock in the morning, and then as we were trying to get to sleep, some business near by had their alarm going off. Not once but twice. The issue was resolved today with Bruce-bossman explaining that basically Motel 6 didn't want to hold any of the block of the rooms past 7pm,and canceled the reservation thereby screwing the late arrivals. Enough said.
The faire day was long and somewhat better than expected, shows were sporadic at best, not to mention that the audiences that did stop didn't grasp the whole "pass the hat" concept. Did have one good moment at the last huzzah, I swallowed a sword, that threw many people in the audience, enough said. If you weren't there I'm not telling you why it was so good. Tee Hee.
