Voodoo Revue
Oct. 31st, 2006 05:03 pmThe show was awsome. The Westport Coffeehouse Theater was a perfect venue, and there was talk of taking the show on the road next year, maybe to Lawrence. I was in charge of lights and sound as well as doing the Straitjacket escape. Rod ate fire as well as ate glass and razor blades. Terry Davolt did the bed of nails, human blockhead and the electric chair. Our Belly Dancer was Janna. Nadine Beeny did some juggling as well as some acrobatic moves. I finished it up with the straightjacket. The music was rocking (of course), I tried to inject a bit of humor into the show with my choice of music, such as "Get a haircut and Get a Real Job" as Rod started his Fire Eating. Although some in the audience may have missed the subtle humor of playing "Folsom Prison Blues" for the electric chair. First show Saturday night an audience volunteer identifying himself only as "Dog", got the bounty hunter theme song. The grossest thing each night was Terry's blockhead routine as he nailed a spike and then an awl into the middle of his face. Many on the front row turned away, but it was like a train wreck. They had to look.
You should have been there, it's definately on for next year.
