Roller Derby
Jul. 15th, 2007 11:34 amWent to the roller derby last night. While not as action packed as I remember from watching it on TV in the early 80's, it was still a good time. The girls (all girl league) skate on a flat track set out on the floor of the Hale Arena (Next to Kemper). I learned last night that they used to skate at at Winnwood Skate Center where I worked as a DJ for 7 years, I thought that was cool, and they still train up there.
We watched the Victory Vixens vs. The Black Eyed Susans in Bout 1 and Bout 2 was the Dreadnought Dorothy's vs. The Knockouts. This was the Championship Event, and we weren't disappointed. There were girls flying all over he track, crashing and burning hard. The big event was the second bout, these teams had been gunning for each other all season and it showed. You really had to be there. It was like watching women fighting over shoes during a huge Christmas Sale.

seantaclaus was going to be there with a "friend" he met online, but we never saw him if he was there.
