Argh there be pirates!!!
May. 25th, 2007 10:44 am**edit** This was supposed to be posted Friday, but with LJ's upload problems didn't happen.
Short and sweet:
Took Child1 to Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End last night. OK, I took her but she was there to see it with her friends.
Much better than the second one. The jokes weren't over the top, like in Dead Mans Chest. A couple of things that bothered me were Jack's hallucinations, the first time it's weirdly grim and the others it's just plain overkill. One scene has a "good" Jack and a "bad" Jack walking on Jack's shoulders in the stereotypical moral argument that to me didn't really come to any decision. One of the other things that caught my eye, and one that I think should have been digitally erased in editing was the kid with braces singing during the opening scene. It probably wouldn't have been noticed if the kid hadn't been featured in a facial close-up.
I'll probably go see it again with
renniemom, since she had a band commission meeting last night and missed opening night.
Recommended. Go see it and stay through the credits to the very end you don't want to miss it.
