It's a Faire life
Aug. 18th, 2006 04:58 pmHeading to Columbia this weekend for a first year faire. We've had little communication with the planners of this one, and no formal contract. The wife did talk to our contact on Monday and verified the hotel and that they would payout on Sunday afternoon. He called back Tuesday to let us know they've switched hotels. We're supposed to call when we get to town so he can show us to the faire site, I expect we'll get their about 9 or 9:30pm.
Working for Dr Dumpe at KCRF this fall, and I'm doing his first show (unofficially The Magic Show). Correction, I'm doing part of his first show and I'm really looking forward to working some of the crowds that I know he attracts. Am I ready? I don't know. My style of magic is pretty laid back, JP from atthefaire.com said (after a show in Central City NE) that I'm just so laid back the audiences don't know whether to take me seriously or not. I'm also looking forward to learning fire-eating from the master himself. He's already said the first day he'll probably set my tongue on fire just to show off, and by the end of faire I should have all the basics down. It's a five year plan.
Give the monkey some love!
